چکیده
Aim: In the treatment of intertrochanteric femur fractures, proximal femoral nail (PFN), and bipolar hemiarthroplasty (BPH) are widely used. This study aimed to compare these two types implants depending on risk factors regarding patients.
Material Method: PFN (Group 1) was applied 40 89 patients (44 female, 45 male) aged between 51-80 (mean 68.16±6.78) BPH 2) 49 them. Age, gender, fracture side, mechanism, additional disease, Body mass index (BMI), Albumin level, Hemoglobin (Hb) decrease T-score, American Society Anesthesiologists (ASA) classification, type anesthesia, surgery type, operation time, hospital stay full weight-bearing Harris Hip Score (HHS) in preoperative postoperative periods, classification intertrochanter according AO Foundation Orthopedic Trauma Association (AO/OTA), complications were recorded.
 Results: Group 1 younger with a mean age 64.55±6.23 years compared 2 (p 0.05). group 1, time 46.78±5.29 minutes 2.48±0.75 days, which shorter, most closed, T-score -2.49±0.59 better, 3.48±0.78 months, Hb 1.17±0.37 g/dL less, level 3.11±0.4 higher

Proximal femoral nail antirotation versus hemiarthroplasty in the treatment of senile intertrochanteric fractures: Case report
BACKGROUND Primary hemiarthroplasty was recommended by some surgeons as the preferred choice in treating unstable senile intertrochanteric fractures with osteoporosis. However, many studies reported that proximal femoral nail antirotation (PFNA) currently was as an optimal implant for the treatment of different type of intertrochanteric fractures. Which method is better for treating senile inte...

PURPOSE To report outcomes of 87 consecutive patients treated with a proximal femoral nail (PFN) for trochanteric femoral fractures. METHODS 17 men and 70 women aged 58 to 95 (mean, 85) years with trochanteric femoral fractures underwent PFN fixation using an intramedullary nail, a lag screw, and a hip pin. Fractures were classified according to the AO system; the most common fracture type wa...

conclusions the rate of mortality in the first postoperative year was high; however, functional outcomes were satisfactory. most of the patients could return to their previous activity levels. in the current study, we found no significant correlation between delay in surgery, and mortality at the first postoperative year and hhs. background femoral neck fractures (fnf) are a challenging orthope...
متن کاملCemented Bipolar Hemiarthroplasty versus Proximal Femoral Nails: A Prospective Comparative Outcome Analysis in Unstable Elderly Intertrochanteric Fractures
Introduction: Hip fractures always cause short-term pain, disability and a longer-term pain, disability or Deformity. Only a small number of reports on the incidence of hip fractures in the Asian population exist. Intertrochanteric fractures in osteoporotic bones with gross comminution are highly unstable and are associated with a high risk of morbidity and mortality. Material and Methods: To c...
